You have arrived at the Media Mecca Sign-up page.
Media Mecca is your home within a home. We have a great Happy Hour that keeps getting happier. We have plenty of media friends to meet and assist. We will have tours, the panel, and other special events. We have cool shade, cool water and cool friends. That, of course, means you.
If you are a new volunteer, sign yourself up as a Wrangler. You'll be helping to greet the Press, hand them a cold one, tag their cameras, and give them their contracts to sign. We'll have a training in Early August to get you up to speed.
You'll notice on this sign up sheet that there are spots for both Wrangler/Art Liaisons and Art Tour Volunteers.
As an Art Liaison, your job will be to be knowledgeable in the art projects happening at Burning Man. In addition to helping Media sign in, you'll be a "go-to" person on hand at Mecca when a member of the Press wants more information about the art. There will be a special session on Monday of the Burn where you'll familiarize yourself with the art installations. Art Tour Volunteers will be helping Katie, Ryan, and Peter out with the Art Tours on Wednesday and Thursday. You'll help with cat hearding the press onto Nautilus, getting them to "sign-in" and you'll be on the ground logistical support for making sure the artists are ready to greet the media.
