2012 THEME: It Was On Fire When We Got Here

"Since the house is on fire let us warm ourselves."  ~Italian Proverb

Every age has its own End Of Times.  What supported the past no longer works for the present, and systems come tumbling down. When the man's on fire, and nobody is at the wheel the chaos seems daunting, but fire means rebirth when it's flipped upside down.  Here dawns the Age of the Regionals. Burning Culture has spread around the planet with annual fires blazing in Africa, Spain, New Zealand and dozens of other locations.  We spread like wildfire in all directions, igniting the spheres of influence of art, media, and human experience.  All of us individual sparks light new fires in the hearts of those we encounter each and everyday, aggregating into fire so giant and luminous it changes how we perceive the things that burn and the burning of things.  When the world turns to see the change and immolation around them-- there will come a question "Who started this?" and we will answer with bold delight, "It was on fire when we got here!"

Lakes of Fire volunteer organizers insist, in a friendly way, that you read the Survival Guide, found here . . . . . . . like, all of it! http://www.lakesoffire.org/survivalguide/

CAMPING: You know you love it!

Lakes of Fire has primitive camping and porto-potties, and that's it. Rely on yourself for your survival.

Lucky Lake's 180-acre site is also equipped with several trails and dirt roads. Bikes are welcome, but be aware: mountain bikes will get you around more easily.

If you're not used to camping, you can find information on what you need for camping here: http://www.lovetheoutdoors.com/camping/checklists.htm

Failure to bring these necessities will result in way less of a good time.

LEAVE AT HOME:

Fireworks – they are not welcome at Lakes of Fire

Guns or weapons of any kind

Pets – aside from ADA-qualified assistance dogs

Glass – a serious impediment to our Leave No Trace Principle. Cans are preferred.

Participants only! No spectators please. Arrive by 6:00 PM to participate in Lakes of Fire.

Illegal substances of any kind.

THEME CAMPS

Your registration process STARTS here. http://www.lakesoffire.org/themecamps/

If you have extra tickets and would like to help, go here: http://burntickets.org/lakes-of-fire-tickets/ If you want contact info for these camps directly, write Placement@lakesoffire.org!

General registration for theme camps is open until May 25th. Camps having sound are required to register by May 18th.
